The Center for Community Outreach at the University of Kansas aspires to provide students with a foundation for life-long service by challenging, educating, and empowering them to meet community needs through volunteering.
Alternative Breaks is a service learning organization at KU dedicated to giving students hands on opportunities with service work. Every year the program provides volunteer trips for over 200 students through their Winter, Spring, and Weekend Break programs.

The Roger Hill Volunteer Centerserves as a hub for volunteer opportunities in Douglas County. The Center, named after the late Roger Hill, an active community leader and advocate of volunteerism, maintains a current database, website and booklet of volunteer needs in Douglas County.
